Europa Terzo Mondo (ETM) – Ispra is a charity association made by colleagues of the Joint Research Centre of Ispra (VA), Italy. It is part of a network of associations of colleagues all around the European Commission with the same goals, i.e. help the people that are in need in any part of the world. Among them, the most numerous one is EUCanAid, a similar association located in Brussels. In 2010 the number of members of this network counted around 1200 volunteers. The ETM Ispra section, founded in 1979 in Lombardy region, Italy, has about 200 members.

According to its statute, ETM – Ispra supports micro-projects by providing communities with financial and technical means to realise micro-projects, paving the way for sustainable material and cultural development.

Our members and benefactors share the understanding of lives of people in need by raising awareness on problems linked to underdevelopment and on risks/benefits of globalisation in the market economy. ETM tries to help communities understand the reasons for their under-development.
